Week 1 - Continued

With regards to basing my final project work on the Cultural Olympiad, I felt it would be the best option for me to take rather than creating something else from scratch. This was for two main reasons:

1. It gives me an instant focus focus point to work towards
2. Because I have a great interest in sport, it will enable me to bring a personal dimension to the project, which will hopefully add dynamic to my process and ideas

Initial ideas at this stage:

• Looking at the history of the Olympics, by somehow linking statistics to countries and some how using the data to create a visualisation, maybe also interactive.
• Fireworks displays (opening ceremony), finding process behind the displays and recreating them in a smaller scale.
